Stine Heger

I am writing my final thesis at the University of Copenhagen; 120-200 pages due on Sep. 1st. I am writing it together with an awesome study buddy of mine (Lone), so it’s great fun, and we’re very excited about the field we’ve chosen: We’re writing about the column as a journalistic genre in Danish newspapers and magazines. The column in Denmark is by most professionals and experts looked at as a specific kind of text with specific characteristics (which as far as I know is not the case in the US — will know and write more about this later on). Not a lot has been written about the column in Denmark, so we hope to contribute to the existing literature with something useful and interesting. So far we’ve gone through all Danish literature on the subject, and now we’re about to go through all the empirical material we’ve collected: Columns taken from all newspapers and magazines from one randomly chosen week in March. We’re very excited to see where this material will take us.
