OM MIG (Please scroll down for English)
Se her.
Se desuden yderligere om mit CV her
Jeg elsker New York.
And here we go IN ENGLISH
Who am I…
I have a master’s degree from University of Copenhagen. I studied Danish (e.g. like an English major in the US) and rhetoric. I also took writing classes at New York University. My interests are mainly journalistic but also literary, and especially cross discipline. I have had a strong focus on writing (theoretically and practically) throughout my studies. In the spring and summer of 2008 I finished my final thesis. I wrote it together with a study buddy of mine, and we studied the column as a journalistic genre in Denmark. Read more here.
I am editor of the Danish online writing community www.skriv.net. ‘Skriv’ means ‘write’. It was launched for the first time in March 2008. The editorial part of the site is written by me and a few other writers. But the site’s main idea is that the users can publish their own work at the site and exchange inspiration and feedback. It’s all in Danish, so if you’re reading this because you don’t speak Danish, I am sorry, it will most likely mean nothing to you should you go there.
I have my own small editorial office at something called Højt til loftet. Check it out.
Other than that, things I like:
I love people who have a true passion for what they do. I don’t care what it is, as long as there is passion. I love New York. I am very fond of novels by Paul Auster, the literary journalism work by Danish writer Morten Sabroe, and singer-songwriter music. Six Feet Under is without compare the best TV series I’ve ever seen.
And things I dont:
I get incredibly annoyed by snobbishness.
There’s a certain cultural phenomenon in Denmark that we call “The Law of Jante”. It basically tells you that you should never feel - and let alone express - that you are better (or happier or funnier or more talented) than somebody else. Actually, you should not express it at all if you believe that you are good at something. Generally, I think this is pretty stupid.
A Danish writer and critic, Leonora Christina Skov, said this in one of the bigger newspapers: “I am sick and tired of people only being considered as artists with a capital A if they find themselves in an attic, warming their frozen fingers over a pot of boiling noodles.”
I agree.
